To better experience what this is all about, Konami has released a demo that is available on all expected platforms from today, allowing you to instantly experience first-hand what this return to the origins consists of.

Despite the implementation of modern 3D graphics, the structure seems to remain the classic scrolling shooter, with screen-filling explosions and bullets, platforming action, many enemies and annoying bosses.

It’s essentially a run-and-gun shooter from old times, although the appeal of bitmaps in the genre is far removed from these new experiments. In any case, as far as we can see, it is a faithful return to the origins in terms of structure and mechanics.
